About Me

Hello! I’m Dr. Edwards, a licensed psychologist based in Texas, specializing in trauma, attachment, and complex psychological assessments. My professional journey began with a passion for understanding the human mind, and over the years, I have honed my skills in various therapeutic approaches, allowing me to support individuals navigating life’s most challenging emotional and psychological struggles.

I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology from The University of North Texas and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at The Menninger Clinic, a prestigious psychiatric facility affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine. During my time there, I specialized in assessing and treating adolescents and adults with complex psychological profiles. My career has also allowed me to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, offering comprehensive psychological assessments and treatment planning.

Today, I bring this depth of experience into my private practice, where I continue to focus on psychological assessments, attachment-based therapies, and trauma-informed care. I am also pursuing certification in Somatic Experiencing, a powerful modality for addressing the impact of trauma on both the body and mind.

My Approach

I believe in the power of collaboration within therapy. My practice is rooted in person-centered care, which means that I tailor each session to your unique needs, experiences, and goals. I utilize an integrative approach that combines evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing, and Attachment-Based Therapy. These approaches allow us to explore and resolve deeply rooted concerns, such as trauma, attachment issues, and emotional struggles, while also addressing how trauma impacts both the mind and body, and how attachment dynamics shape emotional and relational patterns. Together, we can uncover the patterns influencing your behavior, thoughts, and relationships, guiding you toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth.

My Philosophy and Values

At the heart of my practice is a commitment to building a therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and mutual respect. I believe that healing begins with a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and histories without fear of judgment. My role is to guide you through this journey, helping you achieve self-awareness, resilience, and lasting change.
